THE VISION
THE KNIFE THAT EARNED ITS NAME.

THE VISION
THE KNIFE THAT EARNED ITS NAME.
We started with a simple ambition: take the santoku, the most trusted knife shape in the world's kitchens, and build it the way the North builds things. Norse knotwork drawn deep into the steel. A dragon cast in solid copper at the joint. Solid rosewood shaped around a hidden tang.
The hardest part was the balance. All that character, and the knife still had to sit dead center in your grip and carry its weight without asking your wrist for help. It took more prototypes than we planned. We did not rush it.
When it was finally right, we saw what we had made: calm, steady, certain, impossible to argue with. The old tongue has a word for that. Bjorn. The bear. After all of it, no other name fit.
BORN OF TWO WORLDS
JAPAN'S SHAPE. THE NORTH'S SOUL.

DRAWN UNTIL IT WAS RIGHT.
The profile was drawn and redrawn in-house until every line earned its place. Only then did steel get cut. That patience shows every time you pick it up.

NOTHING ELSE LOOKS LIKE IT.
A broad santoku blade wearing Norse artwork, carved rosewood, and a copper dragon. On the rack it reads less like cutlery, more like an heirloom.

AND IT STILL WORKS FOR A LIVING.
The tall blade clears your knuckles and the weight rides the edge. Beautiful is worthless if it cannot cut. This can.
THE DRAGON AT THE JOINT
SOLID COPPER, CAST LIKE JEWELRY.

THE WEAK POINT, ARMORED.
Where blade meets handle is where cheap knives die. BJORN seats a solid cast dragon over that exact joint, so the most fragile point became the strongest.

CAST IN SOLID COPPER.
The dragon head is cast in copper, scale by scale under the jaw. Nobody puts that much detail into a knife that is not meant to last.

IT ONLY GETS BETTER.
Copper does not stay new. It deepens, darkens, and takes on the story of your kitchen. In ten years, no two BJORNs will look the same.
THE CARVED HANDLE
ROSEWOOD, SHAPED TO BE HELD.

SCROLLWORK WITH NO SHORTCUTS.
The Norse scrolls are carved into solid rosewood, not pressed into plastic. Run a thumb over them. That texture is also why it never slips.

NO PINS. NO RIVETS. NO BREAKS.
The tang hides inside the wood, so the carving flows unbroken from bolster to pommel. Strength on the inside, artwork on the outside.

ONE GRAIN, ONE OWNER.
Rosewood grain never repeats. The handle in your hand exists exactly once, which is a strange thing to say about a kitchen knife. It is true anyway.
THE STEEL
HARD ENOUGH TO KEEP ITS WORD.

SHARP FROM THE FIRST CUT.
It arrives honed to a clean bite. Tomatoes slice without squashing, herbs cut without bruising, onions fall apart in sheets.

AN EDGE THAT KEEPS ITS PROMISE.
High-carbon stainless steel, hardened to hold its edge through months of real cooking, then honed before it ships.

READY FOR EVERY INGREDIENT.
From delicate herbs to dense root vegetables, every cut feels clean and controlled.
THE SAGA IN THE STEEL
MARKED FOR LIFE.

READ YOUR BLADE.
Knots, ravens, old marks of the North, drawn deep into the steel. They do not wipe, fade, or wash away. The saga stays as long as the blade does.

ART THAT COOKS.
It carves the Sunday roast, halves the weeknight squash, and still stops guests mid-sentence when it comes off the rail.

A FAVORITE THAT EARNS ITS PLACE.
Long after the unboxing, this is the knife you instinctively reach for, because it simply works.
THE EXECUTION
STRENGTH REFINED THROUGH BALANCE
High-Carbon Stainless Steel
Hardened to keep a working edge through months of cooking, and to shrug off rust without being babied. Steel chosen for the long haul, not the brochure.
Santoku Blade Profile
Japan's most trusted kitchen shape: broad, tall, and straight-edged. One blade that slices, chops, and dices without asking you to switch.

Rosewood & Copper Handle
Carved rosewood meets a dragon cast in solid copper. Warm where you hold it, armored where it matters, and no two ever match.
Hidden Tang Construction
The steel core runs unseen through the wood, so the knife balances at the pinch point and the carving flows unbroken. Strength you feel, not see.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
BEFORE YOU ASK.
The things people want to know before they order.
The Santoku profile combines the versatility of a chef's knife with the clean, straight efficiency of the traditional Japanese shape: broad blade, generous flat edge, effortless transitions between slicing, chopping, and dicing.
The BJORN Santoku excels at slicing, chopping, and dicing: vegetables, boneless proteins, and herbs. The straight edge and broad blade make quick, clean work of everyday preparation.
Absolutely. Many cooks find the Santoku shape easier than a classic chef knife: the straight edge encourages simple up-down chopping instead of technique-heavy rocking.
Thanks to the hardness of the steel, the BJORN Santoku retains its edge significantly longer than most standard kitchen knives. With normal use and proper care, it can stay sharp for a long time before needing sharpening.
Yes. The BJORN Santoku was designed around balance and grip: the handle shape and construction keep control effortless even during longer cooking sessions.
The stainless blade resists corrosion in normal kitchen use. Hand wash it with warm water, dry it after cleaning, and it will stay in excellent condition for years.
No. Dishwashers can damage the blade and handle. We recommend washing the knife by hand with warm water and drying it immediately after cleaning.
The BJORN Santoku does not include a sheath. However, you can add a protective leather sheath separately in the sheath section of our store to safely store and protect your blade.
Orders leave our warehouse within 1 business day. Delivery typically takes 7 to 12 business days across the UK.
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied with your BJORN Santoku, simply contact our support team within 30 days of receiving your order and we will assist you with a return or refund.
Yes. The BJORN Santoku is produced in limited quantities. Once the current batch sells out, it may not be restocked, which is why many customers choose to secure theirs while it is still available.
Natural rosewood with copper detailing over a hidden tang. Each handle's grain is unique, and the concealed core keeps the knife balanced from heel to tip.
